Overview

This program brings the beauty of Oman’s East into one program. You will enjoy the combination of the desert and the sea in one place, see the beautiful small towns and villages and experience the magnificence of Oman’s wadis.

Itinerary

Day 1:
Leave Muscat for Wahiba Sands. We have two stops on the way. One is at Almudharib, a small town that used to be called "the small Muscat" due it its wall and towers. It represents a small Omani town with its old part displaying traditional Omani architecture and the traditional irrigation system. The second stop is at Wadi Bani Khalid, well known for its famous wadi sporting unique rocks, crystal clear blue pools, and beautiful waterfalls. We will arrive at the Deseret camp around 2 pm, have lunch and then go on a short camel ride, drive a sand buggy, or try sand skiing and other activities.
Day 2:
Leave Wahiba Sands for Qahid. We will leave the camp to cross Wahiba Sands from its north to its south side, where the sands meet the water of the Arabian Sea. This is one of the most unforgettable experiences of the entire tour. We arrive at Qahid before sunset and camp there.
Day 3:
Leave Qahid for Massirah Island. Masirah Island is the biggest Omani Island with its magnificent beaches. Masirah (65 KMs long and 8 to 17 KM wide) is located 15 KM off the southeast coast of Oman in the Arabian Peninsula. It has miles of isolated sandy beaches. The island is famous for windsurfing. It is also known to have some aquatic visitors, such as the turtles who lay their eggs on the sandy beaches and several migratory birds. Some of the birds are exotic such as the egrets, curlews, and the greater flamingos. We will spend the night at the Masirah Island Resort.
Day 4:
Leave Massirah for Sur. With an attractive corniche, two forts, excellent beaches nearby, and a long history of dhow-building, there is much to attract visitors to Sur. In addition to its attractions, Sur is a convenient base for day trips to Wadi Tiwi and Wadi Shab and the turtle reserve at Ras Al Jinz. Overnight is spent at the Sur Plaza Hotel.
Day 5:
Leave Sur for Muscat with a stopover in Qalhat, Tiwi, and Wadi Shab.
