Tour's Location

The locations of our astrophotography tours are truly stunning! Get ready for pure darkness in Bortle class 1 and class 2 skies with incredible 360° views over mountain plateaus and vast deserts. These tours are pure magic if you want to learn about astronomy and expand your astrophotography skills. The best spots available in Oman to photograph the Milky way and deep space are Jebel Shams, Jebel Akhdar, Ras Al Jinz, Ras Al Hadd, Alsharqiya/Wahiba Sands, Al Ashkharah, Masirah Island, and the Empty Quarter desert. We usually visit the area in the afternoon before heading out to photograph the sunset and wait until the sky is completely dark after sunset.
The Milky Way and its galactic core are visible during the summer months in Oman. From May to July, it will be almost horizontal in the night sky, creating opportunities for photographing stunning panoramic compositions. The Milky Way is increasingly horizontal in the night sky from August to September, creating opportunities to photograph vertical panoramas. The Milky way can be captured during the winter months in Oman, but the Galactic core will not be visible at that time of year. In Oman, deep-sky objects consisting of star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies can be photographed all year round.
