Overview

Musandam is in the Northern region in Oman, located at the tip of the Arabian Peninsula, separating the Arabian Gulf from the Sea of Oman. Musandam overlooks the Strait of Hormuz, one of the busiest waterways in the world. It is also sometimes called “The Norway of the East” due to the rugged mountains that cover the coasts, forming fjords resembling glaciers in colder regions. There are different ways to reach Musandam, including flying from Muscat, driving from Oman via UAE, or taking a ferry from Shinas – a town in the north of Oman. The optimal time for this program is four days, but we are flexible according to client requirements.

Itinerary

Day 1:
It starts in the morning with a tour in the town of Khasab. This includes visiting Khasab Fort before heading to the marvelous Khor (bay) Sham in a traditional Omani Dhow where you will enjoy a local seafood lunch on the ship, visit Telegraph Island, watch dolphins, and enjoy the sunset on the way back. You will spend the night in Khasab at the Atana Musandam Resort or the Atana Khasab Hotel.
Day 2:
Leave Khasab Port on a Yacht to explore the Norway of the East. The marvelous fjords make Musandam a unique place in Arabia. The tour will be around the Musandam Peninsula, where we will sail first in the Arabian Gulf and then cross the Strait of Hormuz to the Oman Sea. The tour includes stops at the coastal villages of Kemzar and Lima before sailing near the famous Sixth Sense resort and ending in Diba to have lunch and explore this historical town. After Diba, there are two options. First, leave Diba at 4 pm and head back to Khasab to spend the night or second to stay in Diba and spend the night at the Diba in Golden Tulip Resort.
Day 3:
If the choice was option two - to spend the night in Diba - then the journey to Jabal Harem (the second highest mountain in Oman) will start from Diba. The tour will head to Jabal Harem and then from Jabal Harem to Khasab. If the choice was to spend the night in Khasabn, there will be a half-day return trip from Khasab to Jabal Harem. Jabal Haram is the highest peak of the Musandam Peninsula at 2,087 meters above sea level, where you will enjoy viewing the Hajar Mountains. Along the way, you will be able to see fossils dating back several million years.
Day 4:
Head back to Muscat or to the UAE (for those coming via the UAE).
